Procreate no more the irreversible effect of sterilization

A lot of people play around a number of different bith control methods before finally settling to a particular method. Some settle for temporary birth control measures like oral contraceptive pills, hormonal patches, intra-uterine devices, condoms, etc. However some people may be extreme enough to permanently want to stop their ability to bear child or produce offspring. For these extreme people, may their reasons be just of personal preference, or due to underlying medical conditions, sterilization may be the only solution.

Sterilization

Sterilization is the surgical procedure done to render a man or woman unable to procreate. This is considered a permanent contraception method. Here are a list of sterilization methods being practiced:

For males:

l Vasectomy. In this procedure, the vas deferens, the tubes which connect the testicles to the prostate, are cut and closed. This prevents sperm produced in the testicles to enter the ejaculated semen (which is mostly produced in the seminal vesicles and prostate). Although the term vasectomy is established in the general community, the correct medical terminology is deferentectomy, since the structure known as the vas deferens has been renamed the ductus deferens.

For females:

l Tubal ligation. This procedure is also known popularly as "having one's tubes tied". The Fallopian tubes, which allow the sperm to fertilize the ovum and carry the fertilized ovum to the uterus, are closed. This procedure generally involves a general anaesthetic and a laparotomy or laparoscopic approach to cut, clip or cauterize the fallopian tubes. A less commonly used approach is the Essure office procedure of inducing scarring and occlusion of the tubes by the effects of micro-inserts placed by a catheter passed through the cervix and uterus.

l Hysterectomy. In this procedure, the uterus is surgically removed, permanently preventing pregnancy and some diseases, such as uterine cancer.

As sterilization is a permanent method of contraception, reversing its effects is impossible. However, there have been rare cases where the effects have been reversed, and the ability to bear child or to procreate is restored.

Pros and cons

The good thing about sterilization is that you are no longer required to take do anything before, during, or after sexual intercourse. The effects of this method is immediate. Vasectomy does not affect a man's ability to gain an erection. Nor does tubal ligation affect a woman's hormone production.

This procedure is not suggested to people who are young and may have plans of having a child in the future as there is no guaranteed success in reversing the effects of this birth control method.

On the down side, this contraceptive method will not protect you from any sexually transmitted disease. And because the procedures will require surgery, it may take a few days of recuperation before one can engage in sexual activities again. Also, because this method requires surgery, one is succeptible to surgery related risks like infections. Because this procedure is non-reversible, people who change their minds after having the operation done will have to live with the regret of not being to create life ever.

Permanently stopping one's ability to create a life is a heavy decision to make. It should never be done on impulse or just because you're being pressured to do so. It is best to think it over well before making a choice.

How to go on when the going gets rough

There has never been a more opportune time to follow your heart and realize your dreams. However getting to the pot of gold is not always easy. It takes dedication, commitment and the willingness to do whatever it takes.

So how do you go on when the going gets tough. When you have dug and toiled, day after day, week after week, and you experience all kinds of disappointments and frustrations.

When you have used the best scientific data, indicating the best locations to dig and are still not finding the rich deposit, which you know is there somewhere. Or when you have developed the best looking website, developed the best product and what you think is the best sales copy, and you still fail to make the sales that you know should follow?

Do you say it is not working and give up, like the gold prospector in Napoleon Hill's classic "think and grow rich", who stopped just 3 feet from his pot of gold?

What do you do when everything you know, doesn't seem to work?

The best thing to do is to take time out and become still. Yes, stop toiling for a while and make some quiet time, because it's no use just hammering away if you are hitting at the wrong place.

The quiet time will help you reflect on what you have done so far and gain some new perspective. Take a book that has inspired you countless times or the Bible and read.

Don't put pressure on yourself trying to find an answer, just let yourself go, any whichever way and the answers will come.

Take a piece of paper and just write. What about? Anything really. You can write about the confusion you feel.

Talk to yourself, not negative stuff that will make you feel worse then you already do, but tell yourself that you are getting the answers you are looking for. Don't talk as someone who is without hope but talk like someone who knows it's only a matter of time.

Most importantly though, listen to yourself, and then try again using some of the new insights you have gained from your inner person, your subconscious.

Sometimes, you're at the right place, you just need to go 3 feet further down or 3 feet to the left, or right. Or sometimes the time just isn't right and you just need to wait a little while longer.

But these are things no scientific data will ever tell you. This is something which comes from inside you, your subconscious mind which knows everything.

That is why it is important to take time out and listen, because if you don't you may just miss the key you need and waste an awful lot of time and money.

Here's something else you can do. Every time you feel discouraged or a little afraid, go and read about your icons or heroes. How they started out. How they felt, when they were still at the bottom, the things they said and did when it really got rough, and be inspired. If possible try and trace a childhood friend of your heroes and talk to them.

In his classic, "Think and Grow Rich" Napoleon Hill describes how his subjects held imaginary conversations with great men who went before them. The result was that afterwards they became more inspired.

Imagine having an intimate, one on one conversation with Bill Gates or Henry Ford, and asking them all the questions you've always wanted to ask them.

It would be awesome wouldn't it. When you come out of there you will be so focused on your goal that nothing anybody say will discourage you.

Something else you should do is to continuously remind yourself that everybody who is now successful, was once at the very place where you are now. The important thing is that they didn't remain there.

If you are serious about attaining your goals you will also not remain there. But remember, it requires commitment and dedication even through the tough times.

Oh, how sweet it is to hold that prize after all the struggling. That's when you realize all the trials and tribulations were worth it. But you will never savor that experience, you will never know how good it feels when you give up.

Social validation sells

For the most part, we are all conformists. We will do what the crowd does. We might not like to admit that, but it is true. Only 5 to 10 percent of the population engages in behavior contrary to the social norm.

We see this law operating in groups, in organizations, in meetings, and in day-to-day public life. In all of these circumstances, there is a certain standard or norm. In churches, the moral code determines the standard behavior acceptable for the group. In organizations, the bylaws and years of tradition establish a standard operating procedure. Because we want to fit into these groups and maintain our membership with them, we conform our actions to the norm.

We seek to find out what others are doing as a way of validating our own actions. This method is how we decide what constitutes "correct" behavior. We see the behavior as more correct when we see others doing it. The more people do it, the more correct it becomes. Professor Kirk Hansen of the Stanford Business School demonstrated this when he boosted downloads for best-selling files on the Web by downloading those files over and over himself so the counter was artificially high. He and his team then observed that these boosted downloaded files were downloaded even more frequently. The high number on the counter indicated popularity, and people were most interested in downloading the files that were already ranked the highest. Whether the question is what to do with an empty can of soda at the park, how fast to drive in the city, or how to eat the soup at a restaurant, the validation of others give us our answers and therefore guides our actions.

We feel validation when we see others do what we want to do. We learned early in life that we make fewer mistakes when we follow the social norm. There are two types of norms: explicit and implicit. Explicit norms are openly spoken or written. For example, road signs, employee manuals, or game rules are all examples of explicit norms. Implicit norms are not usually stated openly. For example, you usually don't have to be directed to say hello or to smile when you see someone, but you do it anyway. Or, somehow you know better than to put your feet up on the dinner table when you're a guest in someone's home, even though your host most likely will not request that you refrain from doing so.

If we don't know the norm, we look around and find it. The Law of Social Validation becomes a way to save time and energy in figuring out what is correct. We use others' behavior to guide our own actions, to validate what we should or should not do. We don't always have to look at the positive and the negative in every situation. This automatic trigger saves us from thinking. We compare what we do against the standard of what everyone else is doing. If we find a discrepancy between what we observe and what we do, we tend to make changes in the direction of the social norm.

Social validation compels us to change our behaviors, our attitudes, and our actions, even when what we observe doesn't really match our true feelings, style, and thoughts. We go against our better judgment because we want to be liked, accepted, and found in agreement with everyone else. When we are part of a crowd, we "no longer feel individually responsible for our emotions or actions. We can allow ourselves to shout, sing, cry, or strike without temperament imposed by personal accountability."

We seek out social norms to help us know what we should be feeling or doing. For the most part, this is not a conscious process. We subconsciously accept many ways of behaving that are determined by our surroundings and the actions of others, such as raising our hands to speak in class, tipping in a restaurant, or how we behave at a concert. When we become part of a group, our once divergent emotions and feelings tend to converge.

When we find ourselves in a foreign situation where we feel awkward or unsure of how to act, we look for those social cues that will dictate our behavior. This could be at a party, during freshman orientation, or even while attending a family gathering. When the social information we are seeking is at all ambiguous, we don't know how to respond and thus continue seeking out social clues. Imagine if you were sitting in the movie theater enjoying your show when somebody shouted, "FIRE!" Do you think you would jump up and run for it? Well, if everyone else did, you would, too. If everyone remained seated, you would remain seated also.

Google best search engine optimization seo practices - part 3

The third part of this article will concentrate on the meta tags area of the optimization for Google. I will mention them in the order they should normally appear in the source code. I will review 5 essential meta areas.

The DTD statement.

This should be the first tag of the head section of your code. The Document Type Definition Statement allows faster and deeper indexing with Google, shortening the time your site will be in the “trustbox” as well. HTML 4.0 or 4.01 should be the standard, and for most cases, the Transitional type should be used.

The title, the most important.

Why? Because there are 3 elements in SEO: the listing (were title is the main element) the click-through (were title is the main reason) and conversion (which is the object of all optimization work) Also, if that is not reason enough (it should) it is the single element that gests indexed and used to list the link text in the Google SERPs (Search Engine Results Pages). An average of 7 to 8 words length is optimal.

The description.

Used by Google to create a text summary in describing the page if available, so make sure the content of this tag is friendly to the searcher, not the search engine. If you are in a competitive market, this tag is not taken into account, but you should have it for your visitor. An average length of 150 characters is good.

The keywords.

Google actually uses this tag against you, by that meaning it is used as a spam check point for the page content. Also, do not include your niche keywords here, as you will be given your competition tips about your optimization. Put your main keywords across the content instead. Here use an average of 200 characters.

Make sure you are using different sets of keywords per page, in other words, that they are unique to each particular page.

The charset type.

Another element of the head section, this one tells the browser what to do when it encounters certain characters in your pages. Google indexes pages easier with the 8859-1 tag, since it will not do any data encoding, which can take a lot of extra time. The UTF-8 tag involves encoding and it should be used for forms that accept non standard characters, like foreign users from other countries.

How to spot government surplus vans

Normally, in all those SUVs like vans, there is quite enough space than in any small cars, yes you may have to spend more money on fuel but still the comfort level that you get in the van is high and that cannot be ignored.

You may plan to purchase a second hand van but if only you get a low price deal. But if you don’t think the deal is in your favor, you can go for purchasing a van from government surplus vans auction.

In government auctions you may find a vehicle that is seized by the financer who was unable to get his loan money back or other government vehicles which are now off duty. These vehicles are mostly very less used and normally the history of such automobiles is very well known. This information is provides is important while you bid for it later.

As mentioned before, the vans bought from government auctions are in near perfect conditions and it not normally mandatory required to be serviced. Simply buy them and drive them.

Once you make up your mind to buy one of the vans from government surplus auctions, you may register your self and allow yourself to ignition start it, one of the best way to buy any automobile! Get into the drivers’ seat and check for the interior of the car. Check for the air-conditioner or heater, the wipers, all those switches and other electronics that it may have.

Do remember one thing that no one is allowed to take a test drive of the vehicle unless he or she wins the bid. Now, like in any auction, or a bidding event, the one who bids the highest, wins. Who knows if you are lucky and smart enough you might take the vehicle home.

Also remember there are so may people play a part in government surplus auction. Some want to use the vehicle for personal purpose and some for the business purpose. Therefore the competition is quite high when you wish to get a vehicle at very reasonable prices. Keeping another choice is helpful if you are unable to secure a dream car.

Furthermore, even if all your efforts go in vain, there is no need to get disheartened, as these auctions happen several times during each year. Just an eye on the news sections of the government websites.

But for those lucky ones who are able secure a good van must be careful about the papers and the legalities of the vehicle. Make sure you have completed all the formalities about transferring the same to yourself. The formalities can be completed there at the auction’s site or later. As sometimes officials allows you to simply reveal your social security number or with any other identification document.

Adrenal fatigue

Your adrenal glands are two tiny pyramid-shaped pieces of tissue situated right above each kidney. Their job is to produce and release, when appropriate, certain regulatory hormones and chemical messengers.

Adrenaline is manufactured in the interior of the adrenal gland, called the adrenal medulla. Cortisol, the other chemical from the adrenal gland, is made in the exterior portion of the gland, called the adrenal cortex. The cortex also secretes androgens, estrogens, and progestins. Cortisol, commonly called hydrocortisone, is the most abundant -- and one of the most important -- of many adrenal cortex hormones. Cortisol helps you handle longer-term stress situations.

In addition to helping you handle stress, these two primary adrenal hormones, adrenaline and cortisol, along with others similarly produced, help control body fluid balance, blood pressure, blood sugar, and other central metabolic functions.

In the heightened nervous state of adrenal burnout, the body overproduces adrenaline, cortisol and other stress hormones. Constant stress and poor nutrition can weaken the adrenal glands. Eventually, this causes the adrenal glands, the front line in the stress reaction, to show wear and tear and become depleted. This frequently leads to impairment in the thyroid gland, which can cause a further decline in energy level and mood and is one of the reasons why many people have thyroid glands that don’t work well.

When stress continues over prolonged periods of time, the adrenal glands can deplete the body's hormonal and energy reserves, and the glands may either shrink in size or hypertrophy (enlarge). The overproduction of adrenal hormones caused by prolonged stress can weaken the immune system and inhibit the production of white blood cells that protect the body against foreign invaders (in particular lymphocytes and lymph node function).

Adrenal dysfunction can disrupt the body's blood sugar metabolism, causing weakness, fatigue, and a feeling of being run down. It can also interfere with normal sleep rhythms and produce a wakeful, unrelaxing sleep state, making a person feel worn out even after a full night's sleep.

Common Causes of Adrenal Stress

• Anger

• Fear / Worry /Anxiety

• Depression

• Guilt

• Overwork/ physical or mental strain

• Excessive exercise

• Sleep deprivation

• Light-cycle disruption

• Going to sleep late

• Chronic pain

• Temperature extremes

• Toxic exposure

• Malabsorption

• Maldigestion

• Chronic illness

• Chronic-severe allergies

• Hypogycemia

• Nutritional deficiencies

Testing for Adrenal Health

In order to determine the health of your adrenal glands you need to have a simple blood, urine, or saliva test performed by your practitioner. Cortisol levels can be checked by blood or throughout the day by a saliva test. DHEA, and Epinephrine, are some other indicators of adrenal function.

Associated Symptoms and Consequences of Impaired Adrenal Functioning

• Low body temperature

• Weakness

• Unexplained hair loss

• Nervousness

• Difficulty building muscle

• Irritability

• Mental depression

• Difficulty gaining weight

• Apprehension

• Hypoglycemia

• Inability to concentrate

• Excessive hunger

• Tendency towards inflammation

• Moments of confusion

• Indigestion

• Poor memory

• Feelings of frustration

• Alternating diarrhea and constipation

• Osteoporosis

• auto-immune diseases/hepatitis

• Lightheadedness

• Palpitations [heart fluttering]

• Dizziness that occurs upon standing

• Poor resistance to infections

• Low blood pressure

• Insomnia

• Food and/or inhalant allergies

• PMS

• Craving for sweets

• Dry and thin skin

• Headaches

• Scanty perspiration

• Alcohol intolerance

Treatment

Lifestyle changes such as:

Eating steadily, all day long. Skipping meals is one of the worst things you can do for your body. When you're hungry, your blood sugar drops, stressing your adrenal glands and triggering your sympathetic nervous system. That causes light-headedness, cravings, anxiety and fatigue. Another drawback to skipping meals: The resulting low blood sugar can affect your ability to think clearly and shorten your attention span.

Skipping breakfast is particularly bad, as it is a sure fire way to gain, not lose, weight. If you start each morning with a good breakfast and "graze" healthfully every two to four hours, your blood sugar will remain steady throughout the day. You'll feel more rested and energetic.

Eat protein with every meal. Eat Complex carbohydrates such as brown rice. Avoid sugar, junk food, white pasta, white rice, white bread.

Absolutely NO Caffeine. Coffee/Sodas over stimulates your adrenals and they deplete important B vitamins.

Coffee does not give you energy; coffee gives you the illusion of energy. Coffee actually drains the body of energy and makes you more tired, because of vitamin and adrenal depletion.

Exercise to relax. Walking, Yoga, deep breathing, meditation, or stretching. No vigorous or aerobic exercise, which depletes the adrenals.

Avoid alcohol, processed foods, and tobacco. Nicotine in tobacco initially raises cortisol levels, but chronic use results in low DHEA, testosterone, and progesterone levels.

Reduce stress; learn relaxation techniques such as deep breathing, visualization, progressive muscle relaxation.

Helpful Supplements

The use of small amounts of natural adrenal hormone (hydrocortisone) to bring slightly low adrenal function up to its proper normal daily range is often helpful.

Take a daily multivitamin to provide nutritional support to the adrenal gland.

Vitamin C 1,000-3,000 mg a day

L-Theanine 100-400 mg a day

Pantothenic Acid (Vitamin B5) 300 mg a day

Licorice (Glycyrrhiza glabra), no more than 1000 mg of glycyrrhizin
