Commercial business burglary

Ninety per cent of burglary prevention is physical security. If your complex is locked up and unauthorized entry is made difficult, time consuming, noisy and visible, chances of a successful burglary are kept to a minimum. The burglar will pass up your business and look for an easier target.

PREVENTION

LOCKS on all outside entrances and inside security doors should be double cylinder deadbolts with moveable collars. The deadbolt should have at least one inch throw containing a hardened steel insert and protected by a latch guard.

PADLOCKS should be of hardened steel, mounted on bolted hasps and always locked to prevent exchange. Serial numbers should be filed off to prevent new keys from being made.

DOORS (all outside or security doors) should be of solid construction, metal lined and secured with heavy metal crossbars. Jams around doors must be solid. All exposed hinges should be pinned to prevent removal.

WINDOWS should have secure locks. Burglar-resistant glass treatments are also recommended. An example would be the installation of polyester security film. However, this must be used in conjunction with the alarm's glass break sensor. Heavy metal grates may be used on windows of high vulnerability (such as rear windows). Check with the Fire Marshall for safety requirements.

LIGHTS must provide optimum visibility, both inside and out, with those outside having vandal-proof covers over the lights and power source. Entire perimeter must be well lit, especially the area around doors and other possible entry points.

ALARM SYSTEM should be supplied by a licensed alarm company with a central monitoring station. Check the alarm system on a daily basis, and advertise its presence to deter break-ins.

CASH REGISTER should be kept in plain view from outside the building so it can be easily monitored and should be left open when empty and not in use.

SAFE should be fire proof, burglar resistant, anchored securely and in plain view. Leave it open when it is empty, and use it to lock up valuables when business is closed. Change the combination whenever someone with access to it leaves your employment.

BUILDING EXTERIOR should be checked including the roof, cellar and walls. Secure all openings.

MAINTAIN GOOD VISIBILITY by not allowing landscaping, boxes, trash bins, vehicles or equipment near building where they might provide concealment or access to the roof.

PERIMETER FENCES need to be adequate enough to keep intruders out, and at the same time allow good visibility of your business by neighbors and police (i. e. vertical iron bar fence or 1/8 inch mesh vinyl coated chain link).

KEY CONTROL should be done in a responsible manner. A master key system where one key opens all locks may be convenient, but it may not be the best for security. Code all keys, keep them locked up when not in use, and do not allow employees to leave them lying around or make duplicates. Change locks whenever you suspect key security has been jeopardized.

ID NUMBERS should be marked on all equipment and stickers (such as Operation ID) should be displayed to make this plainly evident to would-be thieves. The best number to use is your personal Florida driver's license number. Also keeping a record of serial numbers on all equipment may help in recovery.

Rinse and repeat for increased web site traffic

Every day on the internet brings a new rush to that favorite site. Online business owners who seek increased web site traffic hope that their web site is a favorite in the internet community. Recent surveys have indicated that the internet population now exceeds one billion people and web site marketers who crave a significant piece of that lofty figure are always searching for more visitors. As the competition multiplies with like-minded web site owners, most online business professionals are looking for that certain edge which will propel their sites ahead of the crowded and expanding marketplace. Although there is room for all online marketers in a burgeoning internet atmosphere, the battle for sustained traffic flow is becoming a situation that dictates an aggressive push to acquire more visitors.

The constant struggle for guaranteed web site traffic can sometimes lead web site owners to offer incentive-laden enticements. One such feature is centered on a referral program. Gerald Toomey operates several successful gardening sites and recently talked about the successes and failures of such a program. “Our original plan was to buy targeted traffic. A couple of years ago we changed that strategy and developed a script where we offered one of our most popular ebooks as an incentive. All they had to do was refer five email friends, but the program was not successful. We narrowed it down to three referrals and it worked to perfection. Our profits nearly doubled within a year”. According to Toomey, a referral script that comes with a genuine incentive and invites three email friends is usually effective.

The need for FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions) is tantamount for any successful online venture. This section of the web site obviously focuses on the most popular questions that customers and visitors tend to ask. Having such a feature eliminates the time that is required to ask and answer the same questions on a continual basis.

Two additional attributes should include a bookmarking script and the need for fresh content. The content of any successful web site requires meaningful daily updates. A bookmarking script that reads “Bookmark Us” is recommended, especially if the site is a popular destination. The online business owner may want to consider using a script that marks the site as a homepage. A “Make Us Your Homepage” script should be used only on sites that have the highest of rankings and has a hugely popular following.

Increased web site traffic is the goal of every successful online marketing professional and these previously mentioned steps can provide a strategy that is sound and reasonable. As the competition among online business owners continues to escalate, these steps can ensure a credible measure of success.

Adventures in internet marketing how i fell for a loser s deal and still came out ahead

I was new to internet marketing (still am), and leery of scams. But I was also eager to make money. After all that’s the point, right? And so I was ripe for the picking.

The program looked very promising. It came with a friendly face. I would be able to make lots of money, and the site would be virtually free. And not only that. Everything would be done for me.

For someone who was still struggling with putting together her first website, this sounded almost too good to be true. As it turned out, it was.

Part of the reason I fell for it was that it appeared to be an affiliate program (or rather a whole network of them). I had just discovered those and was rather taken with them. As it turned out, though, the affiliate portion was really structured more like a multi-level marketing scheme. You have to fill up both “legs” of the pyramid in order to get any pay-out. And so on.

Hundreds of dollars later, I had received a check for a grand total of $11 (which was a partial rebate on my own purchase). It wasn’t entirely the program’s fault. I could have “worked the system” more. But everything seemed to cost money.

The helpful how-to instructions I received on a daily basis all involved yet another increase in my monthly expenditures. American Express called because they were concerned.

“No, no, it’s okay,” I told them. “I ordered that.”

I suppose somebody actually may have managed to make money with that set-up, including, no doubt, the guy with the friendly face. But I sure didn’t.

When did I wise up? When I finally got curious about the specially-made-for-me auto-responder series that was supposed to lure my “customers” into joining that program as well.

I pretended to be such a customer and filled in the form on my website with one of my other email addresses.

What happened next was not what I had expected. I started receiving auto-responder messages alright, but with another marketer’s name on them. Not one of them featured my own name. It looked as if they were getting people like me to pay for it, while an inside group of marketers were sending each other the resulting sign-ups.

When I wrote to the customer service people, I received no response. So I decided to divest myself of the system, which took me a whole lot longer than it had taken me to sign up. There were so many sub-programs I had joined in order to get that “free” website that I had lost track of some of them. I’m still sorting through my back email and credit card statements to make sure I find them all.

And every one of them was charging me on a monthly basis. Several of them required additional regular purchases just to keep my “preferred” status, which was necessary to make any money at all.

Can you see the circularity of this? I can’t believe how long it took me to realize just how much of a loser’s deal this was.

Now what should I have done and what will I do in the future? For starters, I won’t spend hours signing up for a “right now” program ever again. Instead, I’ll Google it to find out as much as possible before I even consider it.

And when I do sign up for anything, I’ll investigate the whole system thoroughly right away, not months after I’ve been paying all sorts of fees.

I may have been side-tracked by work and life, and I probably shouldn’t have signed up for anything like this just before going on a 3-week trip overseas, but I still feel I should have followed up a bit more closely. But what the heck. It’s too late now anyway.

There’s a rule I learned recently: Don’t pay for affiliate programs. Unless it’s for a copy of the product, of course, so that you’ll have a way to evaluate it. Still, anything that requires monthly fees plus extra fees just to keep your place in some sort of hierarchy needs some healthy skepticism.

It also would have helped if I had followed my gut. I had made a big stash of fliers (“Make Money in your Jammies!” it screamed in neon green) and I couldn’t make myself post any of them. What if someone sees me, I worried. Why didn’t that tip me off that I wasn’t as convinced as I tried to make myself believe.

The biggie though was the fact that the auto-responder didn’t deliver the goods, and that I couldn’t get a response from customer service. I might have given them the benefit of doubt (though it would have been a pretty bad glitch in the system) if they had responded, apologized, and fixed it.

But no such thing happened. Meanwhile, I kept reading the messages I received with the other person’s name on them with morbid fascination (“Urgently go here!”), finding myself actually counting my blessings that they weren’t signed with my own name.

So the bad part ended up being a blessing after all. I just wish I hadn’t thrown so much money at this deal. But mistakes are learning lessons, right? And I sure learned a lot from this one.

Should you buy inbound links

There is no doubt that links from other websites to your website is vital for an ecommerce business. It all filters down to the Google Page Rank. This is the Google tool that is used to determine how important a website is to people surfing the net.

Google will balance the number of links, the PR of the pages exchanging the links, the keyword similarities on the linked pages, how often the site is updated, and the number of hits a site receives. Two PR 4 sites sharing links between pages with ‘small business’ as the main keyword, will benefit more from a small business website with a PR4 and a private blog that discusses ‘wealth building.’

Also, 100 links between a PR6 site and a PR4 site will increase the ranking of the second site faster than 100 000 links from a PR2 site and the same PR4 site.

This can all be a little confusing. Google’s PR algorithm controls everything. The confusion comes from the fact that search engines cannot think. Both the PR4 ‘small business’ site and the PR2 ‘wealth building’ site can be helping small business owners improve their page promotion. However, search engines cannot read. If they don’t see similar keywords, then they do not understand that the sites really do have similar content.

Building Links

The main problem with generating inbound links is the time needed to generate links. Even a strong link building campaign can take months to build a few thousand organic links. This brings up the question, should you buy links from other sites with high ranks?

The benefits are solid, if the link is in the right place. Some link buying services let the business owner pick what sites their links appear on, and which pages they appear on. This is the only type of ‘static page’ service to use.

Another service puts links on blogs. This type of service, like payu2blog. com and blogsvertise. com or payperpost. com let business owners pick the PR ranks, topics, and quality of blog, their links are posted on. Blogs have a benefit that static websites don’t. First, blogs always put the link inside the content, hidden within keywords that the business owner chooses. This guarantees that the keywords at both sites match.

The second benefit is that blogs are pinged to blog search engines, and directories, every time the blogger posts a blog, or a comment is posted. This means that a single blog can be ‘pinged’ to the search engines daily, where a static web page is pinged every few months – if ever.

However, a static page that is linked to a blog will be ‘crawled’ every time the blog post is published and pinged.

Crawling Your Site

Many people buy links from PR4 to PR8 sites for no other reason than to have the search engines come and crawl the site. It doesn’t matter if the link goes down, because the benefits have already been received. This is the best way to have a new website resolved by Google in a matter of hours, instead of weeks, or months.

Cost

Cost can be prohibitive. Some companies have a budget of $1million for blog advertising. However, a small company can get started for $1000. In fact, if the blog owner finds blogs with ads hidden among the posts, they can contact the blog owner and deal with them directly. A PR 2 or 3 blog will cost $5. A PR 4 – 5 will cost $10. A PR6+ can run as high as $100.

However, the traffic driven to your site by Google can easily offset the cost. Buying 10 links from 10 PR5 websites or blogs can result in 100 000 extra hits in a month, which can produce 1000 extra sales.

Link Farms

Whether you buy links on blogs or web sites, avoid link farms. These are sites that are in business to sell links. If the search engines find these sites they will ban them. This can result in your 1000 PR7 links disappearing – forever. It can take Google six months, or more, to apply new links to your website. This drops your page rank, and profits, for a few months.

Outbound linking

It is also important to remember to link from inside your website to similar sites. Google will count these links too. In the end, it is up to each individual business owner to decide whether they should build organic links, or invest in buying links.

How to earn residual income with a work from home business opportunity

Let’s face it, there really isn’t anything out there that beats the ability to earn residual income. Getting paid over and over again for work that you did once is one of the most powerful money making concepts in existence and it has made many entrepreneurs filthy rich.

So how can you earn residual income streams with a work from home business? In this brief article, I’m going to give you some things to look for as you’re checking out home based businesses if “residual money” is your goal. Hopefully by the time you’ve finished this, you’ll be armed knowledge that will put you on the right track to achieving this goal while working from home.

In order for you to earn residual income, you absolutely must have the ability to leverage yourself and your time. When momentum has been created and this occurs, it gives you the ability to literally walk away from your business and still maintain your current level of income.

One of the easiest ways to achieve this is by involving yourself with a business opportunity that compensates you for helping others start and succeed in their own business. You can literally build an organization of thousands and thousands of people who will generate income for you month in and month out, automatically.

While there are many opportunities out there that offer this benefit in their program, not all are created equal. This concept really and truly only works if the opportunity that is being offered can be easily duplicated by those who are new to the program. By offering a “system” that brand new business owners can immediately tap into to become successful, your business will soon experience the “snowball effect” that so many home business owners dream about.

Hopefully this article has given you some good ideas on what you should be looking for in a home business opportunity if your goal is to earn residual income for life. Remember, having a program that makes it easy for new people to get started will have an enormous impact on whether you earn residual commissions or watch your business slowly erode.

The extra mile principle

"To give real service you must add something which cannot be bought or measured with money, and that is sincerity and integrity." - Douglas Adams

The sincerity and integrity mentioned in the above quote often leads to trust. Trust turns a prospect into a customer. For home-based businesses the customer is the lifeblood of the economic fuel that runs your business.

You can have the hull of a business, but without the fuel of customer support you’re just a nice looking ship bobbing in the harbor. Without customers you aren’t going anywhere.

"People who concentrate on giving good service always get more personal satisfaction as well as better business." - Patricia Fripp

The development of a customer base is an important pre-business start-up plan. Do extensive market research before you launch a business. Once you’ve defined a viable business and are moving forward with a plan, begin to identify a customer base before you have a product or service to actually sell.

Mingle with business associates and friends to identify those who would be willing to do business with you once your home-based business is operational. I suppose you could wait until you actually launch, but by then you move from a proactive position to a reactive position. The first is offense and the second is defense – one places you in a leadership position and the other has you fighting to keep the doors of your business open.

"A name pronounced is the recognition of the individual to whom it belongs. He who can pronounce my name aright, he can call me, and is entitled to my love and service." - Henry David Thoreau

In the world of Internet ecommerce the proper use of a name is less important than the idea behind the above comment by Thoreau. The lesson it teaches is that we should always maintain the best in customer follow-up. This can be done with autoresponders and meaningful opt-in correspondence. Home-based businesses that do not plan for meaningful customer support and service are likely to see fewer return customers because there will always be the impression that there is a lack of ‘personal touch’.

”There are no traffic jams along the extra mile.” - Roger Staubach

Define your business according to the ‘extra mile’ perspective, reach out to customers, thank them for dropping by and then make sure they feel welcomed back.

Can success be far behind?

H-f-l-team work at home assembly more a money drain

Before you send for information on an opportunity to build things at home that come with a guaranteed customer base, ask yourself why this offer is being made online and not given to people in the same neighborhood as the business. Understand there be a charge to send the pieces and parts to you as well as a charge to send the finished products back to the company hiring you to assemble the products. Why they don’t simply hire people in the neighborhood is because that is not where the money is.

The pitch is usually about assembling products at home, that anyone can do. They will promise to send all the parts along with a list of companies that will be willing to buy the products you build. If you pay for the parts, assemble the products and sell directly to the buyer, you can keep the profits. Sounds too good to be true, because it is. Once you pay for the parts and they arrive at your house, you will likely find that one or more specialty tools may be needed to put the items together. Tools that aren’t usually found in everyone’s toolbox. Surprise surprise!

However, you’re in luck because this same company also sells the tools, typically at a ridiculous price, along with shipping but it just seems like a minor inconvenience and a cost of doing business to get into the assembly business. After all, you’ve told that if companies like your work, there would be plenty more business just waiting for you.

You build the first few items, to the exact specifications in the plans and start to send letters to these waiting buyers who may request a sample of the product you put together. After you send it in, postage at your expense of course, you will probably receive a letter with one of two usual rejections. Either it does not meet their specifications for one reason or another, or they have seen a huge increase in supply or a sudden downturn in demand. Remember, you probably were only one of several thousand who answered the ad.

There is a good chance that most of the companies on the list will have the same answer to your inquiries or maybe one or two will offer to take the inventory off your hands for a fraction of the cost that you have in them. Your choices seem limited by selling them at a loss and consider it a valuable lesson, or you try to sell them on your own. You can congratulate yourself for paying top dollar for low-quality materials and tools so you can build something no one wants. The alternative is to never fall into this trap.

There are companies offering legitimate assembly work and before you buy any parts and new tools, verify the potential buyers are legitimate and talk with them directly concerning their specifications. If the company will not give you names and numbers of these resellers, don’t give them any money.

Unfortunately many people try for a shortcut to obtaining their Hundred-Fold-Life often at the expense of others. All of their short-term gains will be lost as the "Universe" catches up and deals with them.

4 steps to a dedicated server

1) Reliability

This is not of moment you can fully distinguish by just looking at their website, in consequence you'll have to obtain a works of research. It's always a applicable idea to finish a search about the host to find any reviews from past or current clients. To do this, simply search using Google for keyword phrases using the company name. For example, Rackspace review or EV1Servers review, or you can even take a step further, by reviewing the support forums of the host if they have one. There you can easily find as much information as you need. How does this help with regards to reliability? Simple, it can show how fast they respond to complaints and issues by reviewing what past or current clients have said, and postings in the forums can show how they handle customer feedback.

2) Cost

We are all looking for a value hyped up deal. It's wanted that we influence in style now market price when election a fired server host. Selecting a $29/month server may not be the top option if it's backed with poor support and perhaps your server built with recycled hardware. Take note, this is not saying that cheap dedicated server hosts produce low quality service, but I'm saying that in 8 times out of 10 you do get what you pay for. Do price shopping and take note of each host's price along with their server specs, bandwidth, network, and support guarantees. Review each and then you'll be able to figure, which one is truly the most cost effective. Is it really worth it to have a $29/month server with only 256 MB RAM which may be slow and unresponsive if hit with a spike in traffic? It's going to be up to you to weigh those options.

3) Support

This is toilsome for issues agnate as downtime, ddos attacks and characteristic issues dealing with your server. It is foremost that you express with the help team before purchasing a server. Why? Simply for you yearning to demur their response before investing any funds. If you would rather not send an email or call before making your purchase, if the site you're thinking about has a support forum, you can register and post your technical question there or review the questions asked prior to get a better idea of how solid their support technicians are with regards to answering questions.

4) Longevity

This is usually not listed as a bearing as manifold startup fired server companies are solid, but it's usually a elite risk to lane the twist of cut that a transaction has been in business. You can seal a whois of the host's domain name to see how long a host has been in business. It can be a good indication that they're in for the long haul if they've been around for awhile. This is not to discredit choosing a new company, as many solid server hosts are started regularly who go on to be huge successes. Simply use your best judgment when reviewing if to go with a host that's been around for years instead of one that's now getting started. I should point out here, that in some cases newer hosts will fight harder for your business and give you an overall better support in the beginning in some cases as they really treasure your business. It's really a toss up here, that's where your natural instincts for decision making will have to be the deciding factor.

Gemini

Know any Twins. Then imagine they’re one person and you’ll have an idea of what makes up the personality of a person born under the sign of Gemini (May 22 – June 21). Geminis can be contradictory, people with dualities to their nature that can perplex their friends, families and lovers. They love versatility and change, but can be flighty and mutable to create interest in their lives. They don’t like routine. Decisionmaking can be difficult for them and they can often change their minds eziness. info

In the Zodiac Great Year, the Age of Gemini occurred from about 6450-4300 BCE. It was a time when writing and accounting systems were developed and humans were beginning to trade with one another.

Geminis are kind, affectionate and generous, so long as this doesn’t impact their own lives and comfort systems too much. They have a strong intellect and love mental challenges. They catch on to new ideas quickly. They have an analytical side and can see both sides to an issue.

If you’re a Gemini, you have some interesting company in your birth sign. Some of the famous Geminis include President John F. Kennedy and Marilyn Monroe, Henry Kissinger, Joe Namath and Paul McCartney. Many members of royal families were born under the sign of Gemini, too. Queen Victoria, King George V and Prince William, all of England, were or are Geminis.

Boredom is a big issue for Geminis and they can get into trouble looking for some excitement. But they’re very creative and active and should have outlets for all this energy like artistic projects or exercise or vigorous sports like racquetball. Because they’re always looking for new and interesting experiences, they can tend to overindulge in food or drink or night life and club-hopping. Geminis need to remember to pace themselves or they could risk burning themselves out too early in life.

Half of all franchises are owned by multi-unit franchise operators

Multi-unit franchise operators are on the rise. Some buy multiple units in the same brand. A few buy more than one franchise in different but competing brands. Others buy multiple units in totally different sectors.

Franchisor Benefits

For the franchisor it is highly advantageous to have a successful site operator running more than one unit. Once a franchisee has proven their mettle in one territory chances of success in multiple territories are higher.

Franchisors are taking less risk with somebody that has already proven their ability to manage the business model. No matter how careful the initial evaluation process is, it is not always possible to tell which franchisee has the mettle to run a business successfully when they buy their first unit.

Less training time is required when a franchisee buys their second unit. The franchisee has already done the initial training course and also possesses real live knowledge of operating the business in the field.

Franchisee Advantages

For the franchisee the advantage of owning more than one unit is that they have already operated the first unit profitably. They know the upsides and downsides of the business model. They already have established close relations with the franchisor. They understand in more detail the demographics of the areas the business model is likely to work in.

Operating multiple units can also be more cost effective. All the paperwork, accounting records and manuals can be done at one central location. Incoming calls can be diverted to one location, screened and then dispersed.

Advertising and printing costs can be spread out over a number of sites. It also becomes possible to use higher cost advertising like radio and TV when you can spread the cost over a number of units.

Employees can be utilized more effectively and can be shared across the group. If one store has many staff off ill at the same time they can draw upon the human resources of the other units.

A multi-site operator also benefits from have greater buying power. It is possible to make significant savings by buying in bulk… making each individual unit more profitable.

But multi-unit franchising is not right for everybody. Workloads and pressure rise as more units are opened. The ability to deal with a larger number people is of the utmost importance. The ability to handle and manage larger amounts of data becomes critical. It is no longer possible to use paper based systems!

The worst type of multiple site owner is one that is under-capitalized and trying to grow on a shoestring budget. This can be disastrous for both the franchisee and the franchisor when and if the money runs out.

So what are the characteristics of a multiple site owner? Usually the type of person who operates multiple units is older, has more business experience and larger sums of disposable funds.

For experienced entrepreneurs who do possess people skills, can manage large amounts of data and have deep pockets it makes sense to buy more than one unit. They can expand their business and multiply their profits.

Comparison shopping the flip side of searching

A New Player in Town

Search engines like Shopzilla. com and Froogle. com are great for increasing your web store’s exposure, as well as doing your own product market research. But according to Kevin Ryan, of ShopWiki. com, his new company is NOT your typical comparison shopping search engine. It offers some cutting edge attractions that e-tailers and consumers alike should love:

1. It has “the most exhaustive selection of stores, about 120,000, and 60 million different items,” enthuses Ryan. Shopping. com and PriceGrabber. com, two popular comparison shopping sites, only list about eight or nine thousand stores each. ShopWiki crawls the entire web, giving you more choices, more small stores, and better prices.

2. It has innovative new search functions:

• Rather than narrowing your search category by category, new technology enables the engine to decipher lengthy, specific text searches. For example, instead of searching for “baseball cards,” then for specific players, then for years, simply enter “Ken Griffey Jr. rookie baseball card.” Or type in “diamond ring less than $10,000 more than 1 karat,” and the engine understands the numbers and the concept of “more than” and “less than”.

• It offers a patent-pending color wheel. Instead of entering “red pants” and seeing hundreds of shades of red on various slacks, you can enter “pants” in the search line, then click on the color wheel to select one of 50,000 different colors. The engine will only bring you trousers close to that shade.

• The price slider lets you easily set the parameters on what you’re looking to spend.

3. It gives you buying guides, known as wikis, that are written and edited by users. It has over 1,300 buying guides that explain the criteria for choosing various products. If you’re in the market for a grill, you can find articles and reviews and read up on the different kinds of grills, and the benefits and drawbacks of each. There are general knowledge wiki sites, and travel wiki sites, but this is the first ever Shopping Wiki Site. It’s a great learning tool, and can empower you to make informed buying decisions.

But How Does It Help My EBiz?

ShopWiki is a wonderful resource for market research—you can check out other retailers, and see who else is selling your product, how they’re selling it, and what they’re selling it for. It’s important too that you can see your competition across all platforms because different markets have different price structures.

It’s also a great tool for driving traffic to your store at no cost to you, and with no work on your end. If your e-store’s not already listed in their enormous database, go to the Help section at the bottom of their homepage, scroll down to Merchant Information, and click on Add Your Store. Type in your domain name to ensure that ShopWiki will crawl your site and index your content. Add your own wiki—you can write or edit a buying guide, or you can put a wiki that describes your business and what you do, on your own page on the site. Says Ryan, “It’s clean, it’s easy to find things, it’s fast, and it’s very complete.”

Seo as a destination

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is a phrase that can appear to be a catchall. It seems these words are floated around whenever anyone talks about marketing on the Internet. It can even become easy to simply think of the term in context of something we don’t understand so we ignore it. However, to ignore SEO is to invite a slow death to your online business.

Search Engine Optimization is the goal, not the specific process. Essentially what it means is that that you must use a variety of marketing tools to achieve Search Engine Optimization (SEO).

Too many people think of SEO as a tool, but if it is where are those who know how to use it that way? I realize I may be arguing semantics, but optimization can only take place as you rely on other tools in your marketing tool belt.

Imagine SEO as a town and marketing as your car. There are multiple components that make it possible for you to drive your car – that is the combined marketing needed to move your business ‘car’ from a place called Idea to another called SEO.

There are many businesses that like the place called Idea and never seem to understand that they need to take their idea and transport it to a place where others can see it.

I am always surprised to see individuals who develop sites with no idea of the end goal. The misperception is that the end goal is website development not SEO.

The hope seems to be that if the website is on display that will be enough for customers to find the owners idea and buy into it. The truth, sad as it may be, is that you misplaced your goal.

Your goal should be to take your business and make it as well known as possible so that people will want to come to your site. You do this when you optimize your site for search engines.

Why does it matter?

If search engines do not detect your site as well developed (by their standards) you will not find your site ranked very well. Since most consumers arrive at sites as a result of an online search it makes sense to work to improve your marketability though optimization.

How do I do that?

You optimize your site by making sure your site design is infused with keyword rich content. What that means is that you choose a word or series of words that help identify what your site does. Then you make sure those words are used frequently and tastefully throughout your site. Search engines look for those common phrases and will improve your ranking based on the collective use of the targeted phrase.

From that point you work on ancillary strategies like backlinks and other traffic building events that continue to improve your visibility by search engines.

The truth is without SEO as your ultimate goal you will never fully realize the potential in your dream of online business. Keep working to uncover as many facets in SEO as possible and then make that your goal. Your dream will grow large when you shift your focus from SEO as a tool to that of important destination.

How to earn money online in five easy steps

Living in Los Angeles, Greg realized that there are a lot of people who work from home rather than the office. One reason is that many of these executives are writers and producers of films and television shows. The other is that some have engaged in some money making scheme online.

When the internet was first developed, a lot of people used to send email to one another. Later on, someone created EBay that allowed prospective buyers to bid for items online that went to the one who will pay the most for it. This trend led to electronic business and the only thing needed is a computer and a modem.

Yahoo was probably one of the first search engines to hit cyberspace. The stock price did very well that those who bought this and sold it a few months after are now millionaires. This paved the way for others such as Google, Mamma. com and MySpace.

There are 5 easy steps to making money online. By working through each carefully, the employee will not have to go to the office anymore and spend more time with the wife and kids.

1. Anyone who has featured to have established a successful business will say that this all begins by finding that niche. If the individual doesnt have an item that is saleable, perhaps offering a service is the way to go.

Some successful entrepreneurs just stumbled into something by accident. By thinking about this alone or with the help of others, the concept can be formed and worked on if this is feasible in cyberspace.

2. People are only aware of a service or product when this is advertised in billboards, television and the radio. The way to make money on the web will be to create a website. Those who dont know how can hire a professional to do it.

This should be maintained and upgraded at all times since customers will grow tired of visiting when there is nothing new being offered. Keywords are the best way to get noticed since a lot of computer users type in certain words before being directed to a website.

3. Ever heard the term dont put all your eggs in one basket? This line is so true because the sales made today may be higher or lower than the day before. There are other websites that can earn revenue for the person so this should also be explored in order to maximize the potential of the computer.

There are sites that pay people for answering surveys, writing articles and participating in an online discussion. There are others who earn revenue by sharing opinion in a Blog site that becomes the talk of the town until something new comes along.

4. No man is an island. If the website is not doing well, perhaps it will be a good idea to tie up with others and then split the profits. Advertisements in the form of pop ups are a great way to make money. The fee doesnt have to be so big but just enough to cover maintenance costs and other things to make sure the site is online 247.

Promoting this through the use of emails to friends and family can also help. If these individuals like what is offered, this will be endorsed to others that keeps the ball rolling.

5. Lastly, read up on the latest trends in magazines and on television. Marketing has evolved through the years and the way a product or service is presented then has changed dramatically.

By making the customer excited and keeping true to the word of whatever is being offered, this will reach a larger market and create more traffic.

There are more than a billion people around the world who transact business and make contact to one another through cyberspace.

By buying a computer and checking on prospective ways to making money online, one will be able to turn the computer into an income generating machine that could be more than the paycheck coming from a regular job.

The web is one place where the potential of making money is endless. It just takes some time to think and then let the fingers do the typing.

Auctions taping into the global garage sale

The rise in online auctions has created a global garage sale. Interestingly it is this exact atmosphere that is a draw to customers that enjoy bargain hunting.

Many online auction users are used to spending Saturday mornings driving from one location to the next in search of a treasure. These individuals may not even be certain what they are looking for, but they know it when they see it.

Just as the local newspaper provides details on the most promising garage sales, so too does the online search function of various auction sites.

If you were to stop and talk to anyone at a garage sale about the one item they purchased at a garage sale that had the most meaning they would each have a story of an item that is still in use and was the greatest bargain they have ever encountered.

The same could be true of online auction users. Each day customers are finding out-of-print music, classic books, Hollywood memorabilia, items from pop culture, furniture, automobiles and much more.

The circus atmosphere of an online auction site contributes to the end use enjoyment for customers.

This is the atmosphere online businesses can take advantage of when they place items for sale on an auction site.

Many online businesses will provide items for sale at auction that have a minimum bid price that is much less than the retail price of the item. The reason they do this is to generate significant interest in the auctioned item.

If the items becomes popular with bidders the online business selling the item may wind up selling it for more than it’s worth, but they may also find they have encouraged many potential customers to consider their online business website.

One of the reasons the use of an online auction site is a powerful marketing tool is simply because it taps into a mindset that may not initially be inclined to visit your online store.

The bargain hunter, the frugal man or woman, those on a budget are prone to utilize auction sites simply because they are relatively sure they will find the best deals there. If you can prove you are interested in the price conscious consumer you may convert the bargain hunter into a regular customer at your online shop. The mechanism used is an online auction site that tells a certain type of consumer that you understand and will do your best to keep your prices at a level that is inviting to bargain hunters on a global basis.

It is possible to make money working from home

There may be several reasons why a person needs to work from home. One household members works outside the home and the other stays there to take care of the kids, an ill relative or simply is unable to find a job to match their employment skills. Fortunately, with the increasing acceptance of the internet there are many various work at home jobs a person can perform and make money without having to leave the house.

Websites need to market their sites and to do so they use three basic types of marketing. Search engine marketing, articles marketing and affiliate marketing and people with little or no website experience can take advantage of a couple of these methods and begin earning money at home. Search engine marketing does require extensive experience in building websites that are attractive to the electronic spiders employed by search engines, but article marketing and affiliate marketing hold promise.

Affiliate marketing is one of the hottest trends in working at home and with a basic understanding of internet language can have their own website up and running and collecting an income from many different companies. While many opportunities exist with some internet companies that offer turnkey business solutions, they are offering the person a chance to advertise a specific site and earn money from any sales that stem from that site. There are a few good ones online, but still, the income is going to come from a single source and if something happens to that one company, the income stream stops.

Building your own website allows the opportunity to choose as many affiliate companies that the individual wants to join. They could build a virtual mall with internet affiliate from a variety of specialties to attract visitors with different tastes and interests to provide a better chance of achieving sales. When a visitor goes through their virtual mall and makes a purchase, the site owner receives a commission. Although most commissions are in the five to 10 percent range, there are a few that pay handsome rewards to a site owner who refers business their way.

Signing up with companies can be done one at a time, which is time consuming, or through an affiliate portal that offers hundreds of online companies from which to choose. The trick is choosing companies in which the target market may be interested. Additionally, the more companies that sell items referred to as consumables, the better chance there is to achieve repeat sales. Consumables are not necessarily edible merchandise; rather consumables are those items that will need to be replenished on a consistent basis such as toothpaste, paper products and household cleaners.

There are many opportunities with which a free website can be established and most of those have the tools with which to build a working website. However, in order to have a unique name to the site, web-hosting companies may offer sites for under $50 a year. These may be considered after the free site is up and running and producing an income.

Things to look for in a business investment opportunity

There are many things that you should look for in a business investment opportunity. First of all, keep in mind that when you are dealing with business investment opportunities that you find online, you have to be sure that they are actually worthwhile. There might be many times where you find a business investment opportunity – and it is jut going to be a matter of when and where you can find the opportunity to be involved in a business that is going to be a benefit to you and actually make you some money.

In order to look at the business investment opportunity and see if it is actually something that is going to make you money, you have to first take a look at what the business is and scout out as much information about the business as you can find. You should never jump into a business opportunity that you can’t find any information on, because you have to be certain that the business investment opportunity is going to be one that fits your needs in a good way. One of the most important things that you can look at is the things that other people have said about this business investment opportunity. Remember that it if is a real business investment opportunity, you will be able to find out a lot of information about the company that is fronting it and what they stand for. You should be sure to check up on as much of this information as you can and be sure that it is completely legitimate before you begin.

You should also know that a real business investment opportunity would never want to take your money right away, or get personal information about you. Many times scammers will tell someone that they are a business investment opportunity, and then they will take advantage of the people and take their money and personal information. You have to be sure that this doesn’t happen to you, and one of the ways that you can do this is by not giving out any information and not paying any money until you know that the business investment opportunity is real and that you aren’t going to get taken advantage of.

There are other things that you should look at, as well, when it comes to business investment opportunity information, as well. In order to make money, a business must have a plan, so you have to be sure that the business plan fits your needs and that you find a way to research how this business investment opportunity is going to make you money.

Remember that the best thing you can do is to simply be smart. If an idea looks too good to be true, chances are that it is too good to be true. You also want to be sure that you aren’t falling for anything that might take your money or scam you in any way. Keep your head in the game and keep your eyes open, and above all else, be sure that you think things through.

Web site strategies

Keywords and meta tags are very important part of the overall website strategy. Even though they are not visible to most, but they are very important. As you build your website you have to consider what keywords or phrases your target audience may search to find your website online. Those keywords should appear in your Web content. Off course, that doesn't mean that you want to repeat those keywords endlessly.

Keep in mind that you have target audiences. One is going to be your customer. The other is going to be the search engines. You are going to need both in order to succeed. If your customers don't like your website they will quickly abandon it. If the search engines reject your site, your customers will never find your site.

Although search engines are very important there are other ways to drive traffic to your site. Blogs, forums, social networking sites, online magazines, paid listings, and more are also effective sources of traffic. Keep in mind that just like in any other business the more visitors you have the more exposure you get to potential customers. So your goal is to drive as many customers as possible to your website.

Having your contact information available on your side is a no-brainer. It is not enough to have one way for your customers to contact you. Some people prefer contact through e-mail while others prefer a phone call. There is not one way to contact your customer is going to satisfy everyone. Therefore, you should list as many different options as you can. E-mail, online chat, telephone, fax, mailing address is among the most popular options.

Competitive analysis is important. You should study your competitors’ web sites to understand how you measure up. Studying and analyzing your competitor does not mean copying your competitor. It is always smart to keep an eye on your competition. You should be able to learn a great deal from visitor and competitors' web sites. Study the pros and cons and learn as much as you can. Don't feel bad about this. Everybody is doing it. Studying your competition is not only normal but smart business.
